LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

4. use correct vocabulary in simple sentences.
5. improve their spelling and word recognition skills.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils have already learned simple vocabulary words such as boy, book, school, mother, and dog, and they have also practised reading and forming simple sentences.
In this lesson, they will use these known words to correctly complete missing parts in sentences. This will help them improve their understanding of word meaning, sentence structure, and correct word usage.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Fill in the gaps means completing a sentence by putting the correct missing word(s) in the empty spaces using given clues or a word box. It is an exercise where you are to choose the right word to make a sentence complete and meaningful.
GUIDELINES ON HOW TO FILL IN THE GAPS
The teacher guides the pupils as follows:
1. Read the whole sentence carefully.
2. Look at the word box provided.
3. Choose the word that makes the sentence meaningful.
4. Check if the word fits correctly in the sentence.
5. Write the correct word in the blank space.
