CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

God is the Creator of the heavens, the earth and everything in them. He created human beings in His own image and gave them the ability to think, learn, solve problems and create useful things.

Human beings use their knowledge and skills to make houses, roads, clothes, furniture, tools and machines. These activities show the creative abilities God has given to people.

In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of creativity, things made by man, how God is the source of human creativity, and how creation shows God’s love.

MEANING OF CREATIVITY

Creativity is the ability to think of new ideas and use knowledge and skills to make or develop something useful.

Examples of creative activities include drawing, painting, writing, designing, building, sewing, cooking and making useful objects.

THINGS MADE BY MAN

Human beings use the abilities God has given them to make many useful things.

Examples include:

• Houses and buildings

• Roads and bridges

• Clothes and shoes

• Furniture

• Cars, buses and bicycles

• Books and writing materials

• Tools and machines

• Computers and mobile phones

• Musical instruments

• Farm tools and equipment

These things are made from materials obtained from God’s creation.

GOD AS THE SOURCE OF CREATIVITY

God is the source of human creativity because He created human beings with intelligence, talents and abilities to think and make things.

Human creativity should be used to:

1. Solve problems.

2. Help other people.

3. Make work easier.

4. Improve our environment.

5. Develop useful products.

6. Glorify God through good works.

CREATION AS A SIGN OF GOD’S LOVE

God’s creation shows His love for human beings because He provided the things needed for life.

For example:

• The sun provides light and warmth.

• Plants provide food and oxygen.

• Water supports life.

• Animals provide food and other useful materials.

• The land provides space for farming and living.

God’s creation reminds us that He cares for humanity and wants us to care for one another and the environment.

IMPORTANCE OF CREATIVITY

Creativity is important because it:

3. Helps us develop useful things.

4. Encourages learning and innovation.

5. Helps us develop our talents.
