CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Danger can happen at any time. People may face sickness, accidents, storms, enemies or other difficult situations. Christians believe that God is able to protect and deliver His people from danger.

God wants us to trust Him and pray to Him when we are afraid or facing difficulties. He may protect us directly or use other people and means to help us.

In this lesson, pupils will learn how God delivers those who trust in Him, God’s ever-present deliverance and examples of God’s deliverance in the Bible.

HOW GOD DELIVERS THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM

God delivers people who trust in Him in different ways. He can:

1. Protect them from danger.

2. Give them courage when they are afraid.

3. Provide help when they are in trouble.

4. Guide them away from harmful situations.

5. Give them strength during difficult times.

6. Use other people to provide help.

7. Answer their prayers according to His will.

Trusting God does not mean that people will never face problems. It means that they can depend on God and seek His help when they face difficulties.

GOD’S EVER-PRESENT DELIVERANCE

God’s ever-present deliverance means that God is always able to help, protect and save His people in times of trouble.

God does not abandon His people. He gives them courage, strength and hope when they face difficult situations.

Psalm 46:1 teaches that God is our refuge and strength and an ever-present help in trouble.

We should therefore pray, trust God and remain faithful when we face danger or difficulties.

EXAMPLES OF GOD’S DELIVERANCE

1. Noah – God saved Noah and his family from the flood because Noah trusted and obeyed Him. God instructed Noah to build an ark, and Noah obeyed (Genesis 6–9).

2. The Israelites – God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. He used Moses to lead them out of Egypt and helped them cross the Red Sea safely (Exodus 14).

3. Daniel – God protected Daniel when he was thrown into the lions’ den because of his faithfulness to God. God shut the mouths of the lions, and Daniel was not harmed (Daniel 6).

4. David – God helped David when he faced Goliath. David trusted God and defeated Goliath with a sling and a stone (1 Samuel 17).

These examples teach us that we should trust God and remain faithful to Him when we face difficulties.

IMPORTANCE OF TRUSTING GOD

Trusting God is important because it:

1. Gives us courage when we are afraid.

2. Gives us hope during difficult times.

3. Helps us remain calm in danger.

4. Encourages us to pray.

5. Strengthens our faith.

6. Helps us depend on God.

7. Teaches us to obey God.

LESSONS FROM GOD’S DELIVERANCE

From the examples of God’s deliverance, we learn that:

1. We should trust God.

2. We should pray when we face difficulties.

3. We should obey God’s instructions.

4. We should not give up easily.

5. We should remain faithful to God.

6. We should thank God for His protection and help.

SUMMARY

Pupils learned that God can protect and deliver people who trust in Him. God gives people courage, strength, guidance and help when they face danger or difficult situations. God is always able to help His people in times of trouble.

Pupils also learned about Noah, the Israelites, Daniel and David as examples of people whom God helped and delivered. We should trust God, pray, obey His instructions, remain faithful and thank Him for His protection and help.
