WEEK 4 – MILITARY RULES IN NIGERIA 1998 – 1999
In 1998–1999, Nigeria was ruled by Abdulsalami Abubakar. He became Head of State after the sudden death of Sani Abacha in June 1998.
He ruled Nigeria for a short time (about 11 months) and handed over power to a civilian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, on May 29, 1999.
