1. state the features of Adequate housing.
2. list some factors that affect types of houses.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION
Housing is one of the basic needs of man. People live in houses to protect them from rain, sun, thieves and wild animals.
Different types of building materials are used for different types of houses. Stone, wood, straw, mud, glass and other materials are used to build houses.
FEATURES/CHARACTERISTICS OF ADEQUATE HOUSING
The qualities of a good house are –
1. Proper ventilation
2. Strong structure
3. Well lighted
4. Adequately spacious
5. Standard sitting room with visitors toilet
6. Standard rooms with toilets
7. Meeting the needs of people with with needs
8. Standard kitchen
9. Good water system
10. Dining
11. Parking space
LESSON TWO – DIFFERENCES IN THE HOUSING NEEDS OF URBAN AND RURAL SETTLEMENT
The needs and demands for housing depend on the following –
1. Land availability
2. Cost of acquiring a land
3. Number of houses required
4. Cost of building materials
5. Cost of renting or buying a house
6. Demand for housing
There is high demand in urban more than the rural areas. The above factors are more available and cheap in rural areas than the urban.

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Guides and lets the pupils state the features of a qualities good house;
Pupil’s Activities – State the features of a qualities good house.
3. Discusses the differences in the housing needs of urban and rural settlement;
Pupil’s Activities – State differences in the housing needs of urban and rural settlement.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
