PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. explain the meaning of agriculture.
2. state the importance of agriculture.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils understand that the food we eat come from agriculture.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing agricultural products.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
INTERACTIVE QUESTIONS
1. What is food?
2. Why is it important to eat?
3. Where do the food we eat come where?
IMPORTANCE OF AGRICULTURE
1. Agriculture provides the food we eat.
2. Agriculture provides the materials for make clothes.
LESSON 2 – CONTINUATION
3. Agriculture provides jobs for people.
4. Agriculture provides medicine for us.
5. Agriculture provides money by selling crops and animals.
6. Agriculture provides other materials for making juices, biscuits, etc.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Displays some sample of agricultural crops like yam, maize, etc. as food.
3. Lets pupils identify and state the reasons why we eat food.
Pupil’s Activities – State the importance of food.
4. Lets pupils know that the food we comes agric.
5. Discuss the importance of agriculture using sample and charts.
6. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
