CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Food is what we eat to make us grow, stay strong, and healthy. The food we eat give us energy to play, learn, and grow.

The food that make us grow strong is called body building food.

 

WHAT ARE THE BODY BUILDING FOOD? 

The body building food are the food that contain proteins. The food that contain protein help our body to grow strong.

These food help in repair and growth of the body.

 

EXAMPLES OF BODY BUILDING FOOD 

The food that contains proteins and help to grow the body are,

1. Bean

2. Egg

3. Meat

4. Fish

5. Chicken

6. Milk

7. Yogurt

8. Soyabean

9. Crayfish

10. Groundnut

 

IMPORTANCE OF EATING BODY BUILDING FOOD 

1. Body building food helps our body to grow strong.

2. Body building food helps to grow our muscles.

3. Body building food helps to repair our body.

4. Body building food makes our bones stronger.

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Teacher displays sample/chart showing different body building food.

2. Teacher points to the food one after the other for the children to identify and describe the taste of the food.

Children’s Activities – The children identify the food on the chart and describe how they love to eat them.

3. Teacher uses the sample/chart displayed to introduce lesson and explain the meaning and importance of body building food with appropriate examples.

Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction, understand and appreciate the importance of body building food.

4. Teacher summarizes the lesson in a very simple sentence, asks the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.
