The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of first aid box.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTION 

First aid is an immediate treatment given a person that is injured or ill before full medical treatment is available. For minor conditions such as cuts, scrapes, black and blue marks, and burns, first aid care may be enough.

 

MEANING OF WOUNDS 

Wounds are injuries that break the skin or other body tissues. It can also be a cut on the skin or body tissue. They include cuts, scrapes, black and blue marks, and burns.

 

TREATMENTS FOR WOUND 

To care our wounds, we can call on the adult such as our parents, brothers, sisters, neighbours or any teacher in the school to help us stop the bleeding with the use of some items in the first aid box such as methylated spirit, cotton wool, etc.

 

 

GENERAL TREATMENTS FOR WOUNDS 

1. Wash your hands clean.

2. Clean the dirt and debris from a fresh wound.

3. Remove the dead skin.

4. Dress the wound with bandage if it is large wound m

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.

2. Teacher displays chart showing different types of wound.

3. Teacher allow the pupils to examine and describe the content of the chart.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and describe wound a cut on the skill.

4. Teacher uses the chart and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction.

5. Teacher explains the meaning of wound and demonstrates treatment for Wound.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils define wound and demonstrate how to attend to their wound.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board in a very simple sentence using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary by responding correctly to the questions and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
