ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
Pupils have previously learned about revision of first-term work, the readiness test, and were introduced to national values.
This lesson builds on that knowledge by explaining the meaning of national values, giving examples, and teaching pupils how to practise them in their daily lives.

Revision of First Term Work
The teacher reviews the major topics taught during the First Term. Pupils answer oral questions and complete simple class activities to assess what they have learned.
Readiness Test
A readiness test is a simple assessment given at the beginning of a new term to find out how much pupils remember from previous lessons and whether they are ready for new topics.
CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Every country expects its citizens to behave well and live peacefully with one another. These good behaviours are called national values. Examples include honesty, respect, discipline, hard work, cooperation, patriotism, responsibility, and unity. When people practise these values, families, schools, communities, and the country become peaceful and develop.
In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of national values, examples of national values, their importance, and how to practise them every day.
LESSON 1 – MEANING OF NATIONAL VALUES
National values are the good attitudes, behaviours, and principles that guide people to live peacefully, behave responsibly, and contribute to the growth and development of their country.
National values help citizens become good members of society.
Examples of National Values
Some examples of national values are:
1. Honesty – Always telling the truth and doing the right thing.
2. Respect – Being polite and showing kindness to others.
3. Discipline – Obeying rules and behaving well.
4. Hard Work – Doing your work with effort and not being lazy.
5. Cooperation – Working together with other people.
6. Tolerance – Accepting and respecting people who are different from you.
7. Responsibility – Doing your duties and taking care of your actions.
8. Patriotism – Loving and being proud of your country.
9. Integrity – Being honest and doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
10. Unity – Living and working together in peace.

SUMMARY
In this lesson, pupils learned that national values are the good attitudes, behaviours, and principles that help people live peacefully and contribute to the development of their country.
