Building on that knowledge, pupils will now learn about Microsoft Paint, another drawing application. They will identify the tools on the Paint toolbar, learn the functions of each tool, draw simple objects, and apply colours to their drawings using the Paint program .

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Computers can also be used for drawing and colouring pictures. One of the easiest drawing programs in Windows is Microsoft Paint. It allows users to create simple drawings, colour pictures, and edit images using different drawing tools.

In this lesson, pupils will learn the tools on the Microsoft Paint toolbar, how to draw simple objects, and how to paint or colour their drawings.

LESSON 2 – MEANING OF MICROSOFT PAINT

Microsoft Paint is a graphics or drawing application used to create, edit, colour, and save pictures and simple drawings on a computer.

It allows users to draw shapes, write text, erase mistakes, and colour objects.

IDENTIFICATION OF TOOLS ON THE TOOLBAR AND THEIR FUNCTIONS

1. Pencil Tool – Draws freehand lines.

2. Brush Tool – Draws thicker and artistic lines.

3. Eraser Tool – Erases unwanted parts of a drawing.

4. Fill with Colour Tool – Fills an enclosed shape with colour.

LESSON 2 – DRAWING WITH MICROSOFT PAINT

The steps for drawing in Microsoft Paint include:

1. Open Microsoft Paint.

2. Select a drawing tool (such as Pencil or Brush).

3. Click and drag the mouse to draw.

4. Use the Shape tools to draw circles, rectangles, or other shapes.

5. Use the Eraser tool to correct mistakes.

6. Save the drawing.

PAINTING OBJECTS IN MICROSOFT PAINT

Painting means adding colours to drawings.

Steps:

1. Draw an object.

2. Click the Fill with Colour tool.

3. Choose a colour from the Colour Palette.

4. Click inside the object to fill it with the selected colour.

SUMMARY
