An eye witness account is a report given by someone who personally saw an event happen.

FEATURES OF AN EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT

EXAMPLE OF AN EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT

A Fire Outbreak in My Community

Last Saturday evening, I witnessed a fire outbreak in our community. The fire started from a small shop near the market. People said that it was caused by an electrical fault.

The fire spread quickly to nearby shops because of the strong wind. Many people ran out of their houses in fear, while others tried to help remove goods from the burning shops. Some brave young men fetched water to reduce the fire.

Soon, the firefighters arrived with their fire truck and worked hard to stop the fire from spreading further. After some time, the fire was brought under control. Although many goods were destroyed, no life was lost.

The event taught everyone in the community the importance of safety and careful handling of electrical appliances.

GUIDELINES FOR WRITING AN EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT

2. State when and where the event happened.
