CREATIVE RHYTHMIC ACTIVITIES

Creative rhythmic activities are body movements performed to music or rhythm for enjoyment, fitness, and expression.

Types of Creative Rhythmic Activities

1. Dance – traditional or modern dance.

2. Clapping and stepping – moving hands and feet to rhythm.

3. Skipping to rhythm – skipping rope with music.

4. Marching – moving in time with music.

 

LONG JUMP

Long jump is an athletic event where a person runs and jumps as far as possible into a sand pit.

Basic Skills

1. Approach run – running towards the take-off board.

2. Take-off – jumping with one foot.

3. Flight – body in the air.

4. Landing – landing safely with both feet in the sand.

 

HIGH JUMP

High jump is an athletic event where a person jumps over a bar without knocking it down.

Basic Skills

1. Approach – running towards the bar.

2. Take-off – jumping from one foot.

3. Clearance – crossing over the bar.

4. Landing – landing safely on the mat.

 

VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball is a game where two teams hit a ball over a net using their hands.

 

Basic Skills

1. Serving – starting the game by hitting the ball.

2. Passing – sending the ball to a teammate.

3. Setting – lifting the ball for a teammate.

4. Spiking – hitting the ball hard over the net.

5. Blocking – stopping the ball at the net.
