MEANING OF GYMNASTICS
Gymnastics is a type of exercise where you move your body by stretching, balancing, jumping, and rolling. It makes your body strong, flexible, and fit.
TYPES OF GYMNASTIC ACTIVITIES
1. Floor Exercises – It is done on the floor without equipment.
Examples:
- Forward roll – rolling forward on the mat.
- Backward roll – rolling backward.
- Cartwheel – turning sideways on hands and feet.
- Handstand – standing on your hands.
2. Equipment Exercises – It is done using gym equipment.
Examples:
- Balance beam – walking and balancing on a thin beam.
- Parallel bars – swinging or holding your body on bars.
- Rings – swinging and holding the body.
3. Rhythmic Gymnastics – It uses dance moves and small equipment like ribbons, hoops, or balls.
