PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
recite some rhymes.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The children can scribble on the paper using pencil and colour pen.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Teach and lead the children to recite some rhymes –
Rhythm 1 – Some have food but cannot eat
Some have food but cannot eat
Some can eat but have no food
We have food and we can eat
Glory be to God,
Amen.
Rhyme 2 – Rain Rain
Rain, rain, go away
Come again another day
Little Johnny wants to play.
LESSON 2 – ABC RHYMES
Teacher’s Activities – Play song of number rhymes for the pupils to watch and listen. Put the song in a repeat mode.
Pupil’s Activities – Watch, listen and sing.
Teacher’s Remark – Comments and give a great cheer for paying attention. Encourage the children to sing and follow the rhymes.
LESSON 3 – ALPHABET RHYMES
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Display ABC object and play song of alphabetical letters for the pupils to watch and listen, probably sing. Put the song in a repeat mode.
Pupil’s Activities – Watch, listen and sing.
Teacher’s Remark – Comments and give a great cheer for paying attention. Encourage the children to sing and follow the rhymes.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Plays, teaches and leads the children to sing or recite some rhymes.
Pupil’s Activities – Watch, listen and sing (recite).
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
