PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. understand the meaning of safety.
2. mention safety tips with their teachers.
3. demonstrate safety tips. different safety activities.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can identify harmful objects at home and in the school.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing a child with bruise on his/her.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
MEANING OF SAFETY
Safety means being careful and protect yourself from harm.
HOW TO ENSURE SAFETY IN THE SCHOOL/SAFETY TIPS IN THE SCHOOL
1. Do not fight.
2. Do not push one another.
3. Do not play with fire, matches and blade.
4. Do not go near the electric socket.
5. Do not pull off your school uniform and scandal.
6. If you need help, ask your teacher.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.
2. Teacher displays chart showing a child with wound or bruises on his/her for the children to identify and describe the likely cause.
Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe the causes on the child’s body.
3. Teacher uses the chart and the children relevant responses to introduce the lesson and explains the meaning of safety and safety tips in the school.
Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction, understand the meaning of safety in school and appreciate the safety tips.
4. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.
Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
