CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Every day, we use roads, tools, machines, and electrical appliances at home, in school, and in the workshop. If we do not use them carefully or follow safety rules, accidents can happen. These accidents may cause injuries, damage to property, or even loss of life.
To prevent accidents, we must always follow safety precautions and use safety devices such as helmets, seat belts, hand gloves, safety goggles, and fire extinguishers. These devices help to protect us from danger.
In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of safety, safety precautions, the causes of accidents in the workshop and on the road, and the meaning and examples of safety devices.
MEANING OF SAFETY
Safety is the condition of being free from danger, injury, or harm. It means protecting ourselves and others from accidents while at home, in school, in the workshop, or on the road.
MEANING OF SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Safety precautions are the rules and actions we follow to prevent accidents and keep ourselves and others safe.
