CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Personal security is an extra caution taken to ensure your personal safety at all time. Cultism is a crime and threat to personal security just like rape and robbery.

 

 

MEANING OF CULTISM 

Cultism is a social group of people whose practices or activities such as membership, initiation, policies and rites are mostly done in the secret. It is also known as secret cult.

 

CAUSES OF CULTISM OR REASONS FOR JOINING SECRET CULT 

The reasons why people join secret cult are as follows:

1. Peer group influence

2. Poverty

3. Unemployment

4. Poor parental care or training by irresponsible parents

5. Political rivalry

6. Protection

7. Revenge

8. Loneliness

9. Quest for social identity

10. Personal decision

 

 

LESSON 2 – EFFECTS OF CULTISM ON THEIR MEMBERS AND HOW TO CONTROL CULTISM 

EFFECTS OF CULTISM ON THEIR MEMBERS/HOW CULTISM A THREAT TO PERSONAL SECURITY

6. Active participation of parents, administrator and government to ensure balance welfare.

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) – As stated in the performance objectives or weekly assessment. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils into two or more groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays chart showing the cultism activities or practices.

4. Teacher lets the pupils examine the chart and discuss.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils describe the content of the chart.

5. Teacher uses the chart and the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson – cultism as threat to personal security.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction understand the concept of lesson.

6. Teacher leads a class discussion on the meaning and causes of cultism.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the class discussion.

7. Teacher guides the pupils to state and discuss how to prevent cultism in our community.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils suggest possible means of preventing cultism in their community.

8. Teacher summarizes the lessons on the board using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summarizes of the lesson by responding to most of the questions and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
