By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. list the number of functional rooms in their homes.

2. state the uses and cares of sitting room.

The pupils can identify the sitting room.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of pictures and charts showing functional Rooms (sitting room) in the Home.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Display a chart showing different parts of a home for pupils to identify the sitting room and describe.

Pupil’s Responses – This is a sitting room. It is the largest room in the home.

Teacher’s remark – Home has many rooms. Sitting room is one of the rooms in the home and it is the largest room. Review the meaning and number of rooms in the home. Based on the previous assignment, discuss the uses and cares of sitting room.

MEANING OF HOME 

Home a house or apartment where people lives as a family.

There are 7 functional rooms in the home.

DESCRIPTION OF SITTING ROOM

Sitting room is one of the rooms in the home and it is the largest room.

It is also as a living room.

It contains set of chairs with centre table, television and radio set, standing fan, ceiling fan, air conditioning, etc.

LESSON 2 – USES OF SITTING ROOM AS A FUNCTIONAL ROOMS IN THE HOME 

The uses of sitting room are –

1. It is used for welcoming and entertaining visitors.

2. It is used for relaxation.

CARES OF SITTING ROOM AS A FUNCTIONAL ROOMS IN THE HOME 

1. Sweep the floor regularly.

2. Dust the furnitures, cushions, television and radio set, etc.

3. Arrange all things back to their place.
