ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

Pupils have previously learned about drawing, painting, music, dance, drama, and play production. During these activities, they used different tools and equipment.

This lesson builds on that knowledge by teaching pupils how to classify, use, care for, and properly store these tools and equipment to ensure they remain safe and durable.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Every activity in Cultural and Creative Arts requires special tools and equipment. Artists use brushes and pencils, musicians use musical instruments, actors use costumes and props, while dancers use costumes and other dance materials. These tools are valuable and should be used carefully.

In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of tools and equipment, how they are classified, and the proper ways to care for them so that they remain safe, clean, and useful for a long time.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT 

Tools and equipment are the materials, instruments, and devices used to create artworks, perform music, dance, drama, and other entertainment activities.

Proper care of these tools helps them last longer and remain safe for use.

CLASSIFICATION of TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

1. Visual Arts Tools

These are tools used for drawing, painting, modelling, and craft work.

Examples:

2. Music Tools and Equipment

These are instruments used for producing musical sounds.

SUMMARY
