Lesson One – Introduction to Changes around us
Lesson Two – Permanent and Temporary Changes
Lesson Three – Practical Activities that Demonstrate and Differentiate between Temporary and Permanent Changes
TIME – 40 Minutes each.
LEARNING OUTCOME
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. state the meaning of change.
2. mention and describe the changes they observe in their surrounding.
3. state the differences between temporary and permanent changes.
4. give examples of temporary and permanent changes.
5. demonstrate temporary and permanent changes
RATIONALE
Every day we observe change around us. Changes are everywhere. Everything within and around are changing from the time to time. The change of day and night.
When rain falls, the ground gets wet, the plants start growing and become green. The weather get cool and comfortable. When the sun rises, the ground gets dry, plants and grasses remain the same or dried up, the weather becomes warms and sometimes, uncomfortable.
The concept of change around us will enable the pupils to understand that things around us are not always the same.
LEARNING MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of a poster showing changes occurring in school and home surroundings.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE
The change of day and night. The group get wet or flood when the rain falls and get dry and dusty when the rain stops and the sunshine.
People are comfortable when the weather gets cool and uncomfortable when the weather becomes too warm or hot.
