LESSON 1 – MAKING SIMPLE SENTENCES 

ACTIVITY 1 – MAKING A SIMPLE SENTENCE WITH OBJECTS 

Teacher guides the children to make a simple sentence with an object.

This is an apple.

This is a pencil.

This is a ball.

This is a book.

What is this?

1. 🐕

ACTIVITY 2 – READING A SIMPLE SENTENCES 

Teacher leads and guides the children to read a simple sentence or passage from the recommended KG textbooks.

 

LESSON 2 – TWO LETTER WORDS 

ACTIVITY 1 – BLENDING TWO LETTER WORDS 

Teacher leads and guides the children two identify and count the words in two letter words. Also, to blend and pronounce correctly.

Two Letter Words

The most common two-letter words are of, to, in, it, is, be, as, at, so, we, he, by, or, on, do, if, me, my, up, an, go, no, us, am.

o + f = of

t + o = to

i + n = in

i + t = it, etc.

 

LESSON 3 – THREE LETTER WORDS 

ACTIVITY 1 – BLENDING THREE LETTER WORDS 

Teacher leads and guides the children to identify and count the words in three letter words. Also, to blend and pronounce correctly.

The most common two-letter words are the, and, for, are, but, not, you, all, any, can, had, her, was, one, our, out, day, get, has, him, his, how, man, new, now, old, see, two, way, who, boy, did, its, let, put, say, she, too, use.

t + h + e = the

a + n + d = and

f + o + r = for

a + r + e = are, etc.

 

LESSON 4 – READING SIMPLE SENTENCES 

Teacher leads and guides the children to blend and making simple sentences.

I am a boy 🧑‍🦰

This is a boy 🧑‍⚕️

This is an ant 🐜

This is a dog 🐕 The dog is big. I see the red dog.

This is a cat 🐈 The cat is sad.

This is my dad 🧔

This is my mom🧝

This is a key 🗝️

This is a car 🚘

The man is big. The man is sad.

The red bug is big.

I see the big van. The big van is red.

Also, teacher guides children to identify and read simple sentences not more than three letter word fluency using a recommended textbooks.

 

LESSON 5 – ORAL COMPOSITION (MYSELF)

ACTIVITY 1 – MYSELF 

Teacher leads and guides the children to mention something (name, age, sex and class) about themselves.

ACTIVITY 2 – WRITING ABOUT MYSELF

LESSON PRESENTATION

To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Teacher summarizes the previous lesson based on what he/her has taught and what the children have learnt.

LESSON ONE

2. Teacher uses objects of three letter words to guide the children to make simple sentences.

Children’s Activities – The children make simple sentences with objects.

LESSON TWO, THREE AND FOUR 

3. Teacher displays chart/flashcards showing the most common two and three letter words to introduce the lesson and guides them to blend, identify and pronounce those words correctly.

Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction and understand how to blend two and three letters together to make words.

LESSON FIVE

4. Teacher uses simple sentences not more three letter words to guide the children to read correctly and fluency from a recommended textbooks.

Children’s Activities – The children follow the teacher’s guidelines to read fluency.

LESSON SUMMARY 

5. Teacher summarizes the lesson, asks the children few questions and gives the children home work.

Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the summary of the lesson, answer questions and do their homework at home.
