LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to chart showing living and non living things.

 

RATIONALE

Living things are things that are alive. People, animals and plants are living things. They need air, food or water to stay alive.

Non – living things are things that are not alive. They do not need air, food or water. They do not move. They do not grow and do not reproduce.

The concept of living and non living things will enable the pupils understand and differentiate between living and non living things and appreciate the importance of living and non living things in our environment.

 

 

LEARNING MATERIALS 

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing living and non living things.

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

Living things are things that are alive while non living things are not. People, animals and plants move from one place to another, depend on air water or food to stay alive.

The non living things – stones, chairs, tables, etc. don’t move or depend on food, water or air for anything. The pupils understand the concepts.
