LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify and say the name of the different colour.

2. use colour to describe objects.

3. create pictures of different colours.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and name some colours.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of objects of different colours.

INTRODUCTION TO COLOURS

1. Red apple

2. Green apple

3. Green leaf

4. White candle

5. Black car

 

 

DESCRIPTIVE ADJECTIVES USING COLOURS 

Teacher’s/Pupils Activities

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps – he/she,

1. Revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson review.

2. Displays toys, objects of different colours (if available) or chart showing objects with different colours.

3. Lets the pupils examine, identify and say the name of each objects.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and say the name of the object.

4. Pick one object at a time and ask the pupils to say the colour.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify the colour of each object.

5. Uses the activities above to introduce the lesson.

6. Guides pupils to say the name of the object with colour. For example, black cat.

7. Guides pupils to describe objects with two or more colours.

Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the teacher and describe the objects.

8. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson summary and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
