By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. explain the meaning of rewards and punishment.

2. say the rewards of good attitude.

3. explain the punishment for bad attitude.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Displays a chart showing item (toys and cane) for rewards and punishment for the pupils to describe the uses. Listen to the pupils and relate their description as rewards of Good Morals and Punishment for Bad Morals.

 

 

MEANING OF REWARD AND PUNISHMENT 

Reward means giving something good behavior.

Punishment means giving something for bad behavior.

 

DIFFERENT KINDS OF ITEMS OF/FOR REWARD AND PUNISHMENT

Rewards are gift, award, praise, travelling, etc.

Punishment are flogging, cutting, grass, expulsion, denial, etc.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Leads the pupils to understand the meaning of reward and punishment.

Pupil’s Activities – explains the meaning of reward and punishment.

3. Explains that good morals attract reward while bad morals attract punishment.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation

 

 

4. Mentions some rewards and punishments.

Pupil’s Activities – Mention the reward for good works and punishment for bad works.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
