Lesson Three – Change in Animals III – Comparing Change in Adult Animals with Their Young Ones

Revision and Test

 

TIME – 40 Minutes each.

 

LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. Observe and describe changes in different animals.

2. Name the young ones of different animals.

3. Describe the differences between young and adult animals..

4. Describe the changes that occur in the life cycle of a butterfly.

 

 

RATIONALE

Humans grow and mature in order to complete their life cycles. So too do other animals.

Growth in animals involves an increase in the number and sometimes function of their cells.

It requires a healthy balanced diet. Like humans, other animals change as they get older.

In this lesson, the pupils will be able to understand different changes that occurred in different and similar animals.

 

 

LEARNING MATERIALS 

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

Flash cards with pictures, markers, glue/gum, cardboard papers, plain sheets, scissors.

A poster of animals and their young ones. Flash cards with names of all the animals and their young ones written separately.

 

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

There are two types of animals, domestic animals and animals in the wild.

The most common animals to the pupils are domestic animals.

They know that there is different between how a chicken and a dog produced their young ones, etc.
