ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
In the previous lesson, pupils learned how to draw using Microsoft Paint, including how to use basic drawing tools such as the Pencil, Brush, Shapes, Fill Colour, and Text tools to create simple drawings.
Building on that knowledge, pupils will now learn how to draw with CorelDraw, a more advanced drawing application used to create professional designs such as logos, posters, greeting cards, banners, flyers, and other graphic designs. They will also learn the basic tools and functions of CorelDraw.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Computers can be used to create beautiful drawings and graphic designs. One of the most popular computer drawing applications is CorelDraw. It provides many tools that help users draw shapes, add colours, insert text, and create attractive designs.
In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of CorelDraw, identify its tools and interface, and use it to create simple drawings.
LESSON 1 – MEANING OF DRAWING WITH COMPUTER
Computer drawing is the process of creating pictures, diagrams, and designs using a computer and drawing software.
MEANING OF CORELDRAW
CorelDraw is a graphic design and drawing application used to create artistic and professional drawings, logos, posters, banners, greeting cards, and other graphic designs.
CORELDRAW WORK ENVIRONMENT
The CorelDraw window contains:
1. Title Bar – Displays the name of the current drawing and the application.
2. Menu Bar – Contains menus such as File, Edit, View, Layout, Arrange, Effects, Bitmaps, Text, Tools, Window, and Help for accessing commands.
3. Standard Toolbar – Provides quick access to commonly used commands such as New, Open, Save, Print, Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo, and Redo.
4. Property Bar – Displays tools and options related to the currently selected tool or object.
5. Toolbox – Contains drawing and editing tools such as Pick Tool, Shape Tool, Rectangle Tool, Ellipse Tool, Text Tool, and Fill Tool.
6. Drawing Page – The main working area where drawings and designs are created.
7. Colour Palette – Contains different colours used to fill objects or change outline colours.
8. Status Bar – Displays information about the selected object, document, and current tool.
9. Scroll Bars – Allow users to move horizontally and vertically around the drawing page to view different parts of the document.

SUMMARY
