By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives – demonstrate how to greet on special occasions.

The pupils know how to greet on Christmas, Sallah, new year, etc.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with flashcard.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

MEANING OF GREETINGS 

Greetings is the way of showing respect to people, parents, teacher and elders.

 

TIME TO GREET AND HOW TO GREET 

In the morning we greet “Good Morning”.

In the afternoon we greet “Good Afternoon”.

In the evening we greet “Good evening”.

When we are going to bed at night we greet “Good night.

When we are going out we greet “Goodbye.

 

 

GREETINGS ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS 

Christmas – Merry Christmas

Easter – Happy Easter

New Year – Happy new year

Eid-El- Fitri – Barka de Sallah

Birthday – Happy Birthday

Independent Day – Happy Independent Day

Worker’s Day – Happy Worker’s Day

Children’s Day – Happy Children’s Day

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.

2. Teacher display a chart showing children greeting their parents.

3. Teacher lets the pupils the chart and guides the pupils how to greet in the morning, afternoon and in the night.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils say how to greet in the morning, afternoon and in the evening.

4. Teacher guides the pupils on how to greet and respond on special occasions.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils demonstrate how to greet and respond on special occasions.

5. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
