PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. define imaginative composition.

2. give examples scenes they can draw from imagination.

3. mention some experiences that can be composed.

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils can draw and colour.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Paper

2. Pencil

3. Drawing book

4. Chalk board

5. Environment

6. Photograph

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION  

Imaginative composition is a drawing that comes to the mind through imagination, observation, or personal experience and express in drawing or painting.

DRAWING ACTIVITIES

Engage the pupils to draw two or more of the following –

1. Lagos state carnival

2. Two rams fighting

3. Market gathering

4. Traditional marriage, etc.

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Asks pupils to name other scenes they can draw from imagination.

Pupil’s Activities – Name scenes they can draw from imagination.

5. Ask pupils draws pictures from their memory.

Pupil’s Activities – Draw scenes from imagination.

CONCLUSION

• To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

• Next Lesson – Introduction to Tie and Dye (Primary 6)
