LEARNING OUTCOME
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. identify the meaning of ratio and simplify ratio in its lowest term.
2. apply ratio to real – life situations.
3. find the ratio of family size to their resources.
4. express two populations in ratio find the ratio of HIV/AIDS prevalence between sexes and states.
RATIONALE
Ratio is used to compare two or more things together. That’s, how much of one thing there is compared to another. Everyone wants the best values and quality, they want to maximize their available resources with unavailable resources or minimise cost for profit maximisation.
The concept of ratio will enable the pupils to understand, appreciate and apply ratio to everyday life.
