TOPIC: COMPONENT OF ANIMALS FEED
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to describe component of animals feed.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of sample of:
available animals feed – locally and process.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION
Animals feed is the food given to domestic animals in the course of breeding or rearing of animals.
COMPONENT OF ANIMALS FEED
There are two basic types, namely – locally and process foods.
LOCALLY
Domestic animals like cattle, goat, sheep, chicken, bird, etc. generally feed on plants, grains or both. Also, animals feed on yam or potato pills, chaff, household food scraps, etc.
This type of animals feed are cheap and available natural or locally without stress.
They are rich in nutrients require for animals to grow well and produce in large quantities.
PROCESS
Most animal feed is from plants, grains, chaff, etc. but some of animals feed are now processed feeds by some manufacturers adding ingredients are required for animals to grow healthy.
Good examples of these animals feed are starter, grower, layer, mash chicken feed
LESSON TWO – REVISION AND WEEK 7 LESSON ASSESSMENT
As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
3. Guides pupils to identify locally and process animals feed.
Pupil’s Activities – Differentiate between different animals feed.
4. Gives examples of each of animals feed.
Pupil’s Activities – List examples for each animals feed.

CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
