PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to mention the effect of taking substances into the Body.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
Most/some of the pupils do vomited after eating food, drinking water and taken drugs.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of charts or pictures posters showing the effects of substances on the body.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Substances are what we eat, drink or inhale that make us healthy. Substances such as foods, water and drugs have great benefits on your mental and physical health and they also have some unexpected side effects.
EFFECTS OF TAKING SUBSTANCES INTO THE BODY
Do you know that foods, water or drugs we take or inhale can make you not sleep at night? Or make you to,
1. Gain more weight (overweight)
2. Bedwetting (release of pee during sleep)
3. Stomach pain
4. Vomiting
5. Stooling
LESSON 2 – EFFECTS OF TAKING SUBSTANCES INTO THE BODY

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. Teacher revises the previous lesson based on the previous lessons or pupils entry behaviours.
2. Techaer organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays chart showing the effects of substances on the body for the pupils to discuss the contents.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and discuss the side effects of substances taken in the body.
4. Teacher uses the chart and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on the effects of taking substances into the body.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion.
5. Teacher shares his/her experience on the side effects of taking substances into the body.
