CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Energy is the ability to do work or get work do.

Energy is used to lift things, to heat up our food, give us light, power the car and generators, etc.

There are many forms of energy, namely –  light Energy, heat energy, etc.

MEANING OF LIGHT ENERGY 

Light energy is energy that produces light.

LESSON 2 – SOURCE OF LIGHT ENERGY 

Guide the pupils to identify source of light energy. That’s, leads and asks pupils to mention things that produce light –

1. Fire

2. Sun

3. Stars

4. Mood

5. Battery – touch light

6. Petroleum – generator

7. Electricity

8. Solar

9. Flies

10. Plants and Animals

USES OF LIGHT ENERGY 

1. It helps us to see things.

2. It helps plants to make food

3. It helps plants to grow.

4. It is used in power the street light.

5. It is used in power home appliances.

6. It is used for controlling traffic.

7. It makes camera work well.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides pupils to name the sources of light e.g the sun, stars, fire, electricity.

Pupil’s Activities – Name the sources of light e.g the sun, stars, fire, electricity.

3. Guides pupils to realize that light is not fire but fire produces light.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify fire as source of light.

4. Initiates and guides class discussion on the uses of light energy.

Pupil’s Activities – Discuss the uses of light energy.

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
