PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
identify different kinds of traditional work in our community.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can identify some of the traditional work in their community.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Charts showing different kinds of traditional work.
2. Video
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

Copy as I write or draw as I write. This instruction should be given when you need the pupils to write or draw.
CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – Teacher’s Activities – Display charts of different kinds of work in traditional community for the pupils to identify, report and discuss their findings (assignment).
Pupil’s Activities – Report their findings back to the class.
Teacher’s remark – Give a great cheer for reporting. Note the points of discussion on the board.
MEANING OF WORK
Work is the efforts put to get something done or to accomplish a goal.
LESSON 2 – KINDS OF WORK IN OUR TRADITIONAL COMMUNITY
Different kinds of work in our modern community are work that are pass from one generation to another.
For example,
1. Farming
2. Weaving
3. Woodwork
4. Fishing
5. Cattle rearing
6. Trading
7. Hunting
8. Singing, etc.
LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEK LESSON ASSESSMENT
As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Leads pupils to identify and discuss kinds of work in the traditional community.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify and discuss kinds of work in the traditional community.
3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.
ASSIGNMENT
Find out from home, the different kinds of work in our modern community.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
