TOPIC – PARAGRAPH FROM CHILDREN’S NOVELS/PARAGRAPH MAJOR AND MINOR CHARACTERS 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. Read paragraph from children’s novel.
  2. Identify the characters.
  3. Specify the main theme(s).
  4. Identify the positive values in the story.

 

 

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Children’s novels suitable for the level.
  2. Pictures
  3. Textbook

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Reads paragraphs.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Reads paragraphs.
  4. Explains the main ideas characters.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Answer questions on the main ideas characters.
  6. Identify the main characters.
  7. Identify the main and minor characters.
  8. Identify the characters.
  9. Pupil’s Activities – Discuss the theme(s) and subject (theme).

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

Pupils to:

  1. Read the paragraphs correctly.
  2. Identify correctly the main or minor characters.
  3. Identify accurately the positives Societal/National Values.
