CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
A governance is a system where group of people regulate and manage public affairs by making policies that can affect the state or organization.
MEANING OF GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE
Governance structure is the arrangement or relationship between different groups of people that regulating public affairs such as policy making, implementation and interpretation. Each each group is essential to the role played in governance as a life sustainable system.

LESSON 2 – TYPES OF GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE
The structure of governance are as follows: legislation, executive and judiciary.
1. LEGISLATION – A legislature is the type of governance with the authority to make laws for a political or organizational entity such as a country or city. For examples – the senators and house of representatives.
2. EXECUTIVE – An executive is the type of governance with the authority to implement laws make by the legislature. For example – the president and state governors and their cabinets, local government chairman, head to ministries, parastatals and other government agencies.
3. JUDICIARY – A judiciary is the type of governance with the authority to interpret laws make by the legislature and implemented by the executive. For example – the supreme court and other federal courts.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps – he/she,
1. Teacher revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in two or more groups depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays charts showing the current president, state governor and their cabinets.
4. Teacher lets whole groups examine and identify the president of Nigeria and the state governor and their cabinets.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify the Nigerian president and the state governor.
5. Teacher uses the charts and the group’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson and explain the meaning structure of governance.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of the lesson.
6. Teacher uses the charts of the house of Senate and Representative to discuss and explain the legislature as type of governance structure.
7. Teacher uses the charts of different ministries, parastatals and government agencies to discuss and explain the executive as type of governance structure.
8. Teacher uses the chart of Nigerian judiciary to discuss and explain the judiciary as type of governance structure.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the class discussion of each type of governance structure.
6. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board by using the appropriate lesson evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
