CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON 1 – MINI COMPUTER 

Mini computer are smaller than mainframes and are also less expensive.

 

 

SIZE OF MINI COMPUTER

Mini computer is a mid – size or low – end mainframe computer. It is similar and less powerful than a mainframe computer.

 

They can support from 2 to about 50 users and computer professionals.

 

SPEED OF MINI COMPUTER

Mini computer can work much faster than microcomputer.

 

LESSON 2 – USES OF MINI COMPUTER

Mini computer is used for scientific and engineering computations, business transaction processing, file handling, and database management.

It is also used by hospitals as well as in school computer laboratories.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Display chart showing mini computer.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and describe the physical part of mini computer.

 

3. Discusses the size, speed and uses of mini computer.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify the size, speed and uses of mini computer.

4. Summarize the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the pupils write.

 

CONCLUSION
