CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

Personal security management means to reduce or completely prevent the risk of been expose to any forms of threat or violence. This involves managing the existing safety of lives and properties at all time.

 

The basic principles of reducing or preventing the risk of exposure to any forms of threat or violence are as follows:

1. Preparation – Be prepare for any possible threat(s)

2. Awareness – Knowing all possible threat(s)

3. Keeping low profile – Do not draw any unnecessary attention to yourself by any means.

4. Communication with security agencies and apparatus – In case of emergency, contact appropriate agency for support and assistance. Always ensure that all your security gadgets are perfectly working fine.

5. Be vigilant – Always watchful, alert for danger or some other kind of trouble. Pay attention to details.

6. Report any stolen or lost passport and identity card

7. Regular security check and monitoring

8. Timely security report

9. Threat assessment

10. Enlightenment

11. Do not use your electronic card(s) at night

12. Adopt appropriate security measures and maintain them, etc.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Teacher revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or understanding.

2. Teacher organizes the pupils into two or more groups depends on the size of the class.

3. Teacher asks pupils as group to state and discuss how to minimize the risk of exposure to danger or violence.

4. Teacher participates actively in the group’s discussion.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils state and discuss the possible ways of avoiding any forms of threats or dangers.

5. Teacher uses the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson – Personal Security Management.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of the lesson.

6. Teacher leads a class discussion on the meaning of personal security management with appropriate illustration.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the class discussion and state the basic principles of reducing or preventing the risk of exposure to threats or violence.

7. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.
