PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. explain why goods are distributed.
2. make a list of goods brought to the area.
3. list goods taken from one place to another.
4. explain how and by whom goods are distributed.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of a map of Nigeria showing where goods are produced and the distribution routes.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
REASONS WHY GOODS ARE DISTRIBUTED
We can not make everything we need for ourselves, therefore we rely on other people who make other things we need.
Surplus goods are sold to places where they have shortage.
LIST OF GOODS BROUGHT TO/FROM OUR COUNTRY OR COMMUNITY
1. Goods brought to our country i.e. imported goods shoes, cars, machine, clothes, etc.
2. Goods taken to other countries from our country Like cotton, leather, rubber, cocoa, crude oil, etc.
HOW GOODS ARE DISTRIBUTED?
Good are distributed from –
1. Farm to market.
2. From cities to villages.
3. From villages to cities.
4. From South to North, East and West, vice versa.
5. From one country to another.
BY WHOM GOODS ARE DISTRIBUTED NOWADAYS?
1. Businessmen or distributors.
2. Merchants, trader or retailers.
3. Household.
WHAT ARE PROBLEMS OF DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS AND SERVICES?
1. Bad roads.
2. High cost of transportation.
3. Hoarding.
4. Finding the right people to work with.
5. High taxes.
6. Too much of middlemen.
7. Area boys.
8. Storage facilities.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Leads discussion on why goods are distributed.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the discussion.
3. Guides pupils to mention goods brought to Nigeria and goods taken to other countries from Nigeria.
Pupil’s Activities – List goods brought to Nigeria and goods taken to other countries from Nigeria.
4. Asks pupils to mention those who are involved in distribution.
Pupil’s Activities – State those who are involved in distribution of goods.
5. Discusses the problems of distribution of goods from one place to another.
Pupil’s Activities – State the problems of distribution of goods from one place to another.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
