By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. identify a hoe.
2. state the uses of hoe on the farm.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of charts showing a hoe.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

ACTIVITIES 1 – IDENTIFY HOE AMONG THE FOLLOWING SIMPLE MACHINES 

ACTIVITIES 2 – STATE THE USES OF HOE

1. It is used for planting.
2. It is for clearing weed.
3. It is used for cultivating farmland.

PRESENTATION

• To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Guides pupils to identify a hoe.
3. Pupil’s Activities – Identify a hoe as a simple machine.
4. Leads them to know the use of hoe by demonstrating how it is used.
5. Pupil’s Activities – Say how hoe is used.

CONCLUSION

• To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
