By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. identify some objects that reflects light.
2. use mirrors to form images.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
Mirror and touch or mirror and bright sun
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Light energy are energy that produces light.
Light enables us to see things and the source of light energy are – sun, fire, stars, etc.
REFLECTION OF LIGHT
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Demonstration of light reflection in the class or outside the classroom in when sun is bright.
In the class, asks pupils point a mirror or shiny surface facing a bright light at a dark corner.
Question – what is your observation?
Outside the class, the same can be demonstrated with mirror and the sun ray.
MEANING OF LIGHT REFLECTION
Pupil’s Activities – Explain light reflection.
Reflection of light is when light ray that hit an object (mirror) are sent back in another direction.
SOME OBJECTS THAT REFLECTS LIGHT
1. Mirror
2. Water
3. Smooth surface
4. Plain or rough surface
5. Paper, etc.
FORMATION OF IMAGES OR IMAGES REFLECTION
Pupil’s Activities
1. look at their faces in the mirror or water.
2. hold a pencil in front of a mirror.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Directs pupils in use of shiny surface or mirrors to reflect light and form images by placing objects:
- in front of a mirror.
- between two or more mirrors.
Pupil’s Activities – Perform the following activities with mirrors and describe the observations:
- point a mirror or shiny surface facing a bright light at a dark corner.
- look at their faces in the mirror.
- hold a pencil in front of a mirror.
Pupil’s Activities – Tabulate the observations.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
