PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives – recite poems, rhymes, and sing songs to revise activities on letter sounds, letter names, vowels, reading two letter words and simple sentences.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can sing a song such as rain, rain go away.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing different picture stories.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY 

Rain, rain go away

Come again another day

Little children wants to play

Rain rain go away

 

BLACK BLACK SHEEP 

Baa baa black sheep

Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?

Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full!

One for the master, one for the dame,

And one for the little boy who lives down the lane.

 

TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE STAR

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are,

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky, twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.

2. Teacher uses mp3 play to play any children’s rhymes.

3. Teacher watches the children reaction and participate in the rhymes.

4. Teacher uses the mp3 player to introduce the lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
