MEANING OF CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION 

Citizenship education is the training of people to become effective and active citizens. The training prepares the individuals to become good responsible citizens who have knowledge and skills to participate fully in democratic societies.

Citizenship education is good for individuals, and essential for strengthening and safeguarding our society and democratic way of life.

 

 

DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF CITIZENS TO THEIR COMMUNITIES

1. Prompt payment of tax.

2. Obey the laws of the state.

3. Participating in the political process.

4. Protection of public property.

5. Defense of the state and crime prevention.

6. Respect for National Flag, National Anthem and other national symbols.

7. Reporting criminals, undesirable element, cultists and corrupt individuals.

8. Respect for the rights of other citizens.

9. Care for public property.
