MEANING OF INTERCOMMUNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Inter-communal relationship is a relationship which exists between two or more communities.
One of the main objectives of any good government is to bring government close to the citizens and provide a forum where local people can defend and develop their local interests.
The importance of intercommunal relationship is to contribute to the peaceful and harmonious development of the society/communities and bring people of the various communities together.
IMPORTANCE OF INTERCOMMUNAL RELATIONSHIPS
1. To promote peace and unity.
2. To improve and enhance effective security operation.
3. To promote intercommunal or tribe marriage.
4. To promote political growth development.
5. To increase economic growth and development.
6. To promote government programme and policies.
MEANING OF INTERCOMMUNAL CONFLICT
Inter communal conflict is described as conflict that occurs between competing groups within a state.
Intercommunal conflict may arise over disputes concerning access to scarce resources or political power. Such conflicts may lead to violent warfare between two or more defined communities that are involved in the conflict.
HOW DO YOU RESOLVE COMMUNITY CONFLICT?
1. Identify and understand the conflict. Conflicts arise for a variety of different reasons.
