CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
A fashion accessories are decorative items that used to complement the dressing.
Examples of decorative items are as follows –
1. Jewellery
2. Gloves
3. Handbags
4. Hats
5. Belts
6. Scarves
7. Wristwatches
8. Sunglasses
9. Stockings
10. Bow ties
11. Leggings, etc.
TRADITIONAL FASHION ACCESSORIES
A traditional fashion accessories are locally made materials used to compliment the dressing or beautify the body. Some of the materials used for making traditional fashion accessories are found in nature.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF TRADITIONAL ACCESSORIES
1. Jewelery such as beads, earrings, bracelet, waist beads, etc.
2 Wooden combs
3. Walking sticks
4. Cowries, shells and corals
5. Hair and leather bags
6. Rattles for dancers
7. Pomade
8. Irukere commonly known as horsetail and mostly used by the Kings in Yoruba land
9. Hand fan
10. Hat, cap and crown
LESSON 2 – IMPORTANCE OF TRADITIONAL FASHION ACCESSORIES
The importance of traditional fashion accessories are as follows:
1. It promotes our cultural heritages.
2. It promotes peace and unity among the people.
3. It creates job opportunities.
4. It is a great source of income.
5. It signifies people’s ways of life.
6. It beautifies the body.
7. It complements the dressing.
8. It serves as royal symbols.
9. It serves as a mean of identification.

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST)
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays sample of traditional fashion accessories (if available) or chart showing people wearing traditional fashion accessories.
4. Teacher allows pupils to identify and discuss traditional fashion accessories.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and describe discuss traditional fashion accessories.
5. Teacher uses the samples or charts with the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson – traditional fashion accessories and their importance.
