PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

  1. Explain why we wear clothes.
  2. Explain how to keep our clothes clean.
  3. Demonstrate how to keep their clothes cleans.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Charts on the reasons we wear clothes.
  2. Samples and pictures of different types of clothes.
  3. Detergent soap and water.
  4. Dirt clothes.
  5. Pressing iron.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

HOW TO KEEP OUR DIRTY CLOTHES CLEAN? 

  1. Wash clothes with soap and water, spread them to dry.
  2. White clothes should not be washed with coloured ones.
  3. Iron our wash clothes with pressing iron.
  4. Keep your ironed clothes in your wardrobe or suitcase in order to prevent them from creasing unnecessarily.

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Inspects pupil’s clothes and points out those who are dirty;
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Discuss with one another reasons to wear clean clothes.
  4. Asks pupils how they wash their clothes.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate how clothes are washed with soap and water.

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – revision, test and examination.
