By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. recite the school rules and regulations.

2. state the rules and regulations guiding the school.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can state school rules and regulations.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of charts showing the rules and regulations of the school.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

The school rules and regulations are Code of Conduct given to students and parents to ensure that the school is safe for all. The rules and regulations are designed to make the students stay in control and be of good behavior. The rules and regulations are not punishment or ways to restrict the students in the school, they are designed to help the students to get along with one another.

The school rules and regulations are also known as Do’s and Don’ts in the School.

 

THE DO’S OF THE SCHOOL 

1. Dress properly.

2. All must put on sandals to school.

3. Respect the national anthem.

4. Punctual to school.

5. Be a good boy and a good girl.

6. Be fair and honest at work.

7. Keep your class and the school clean.

8. Respect your parents, teachers, elders, friends and classmates.

 

THE DON’TS OF THE SCHOOL

1. Don’t come late to the school.

2. Don’t steal other pupil’s things.

3. Don’t fight with one another

4. Don’t join cult,

5. Don’t use abuse language,

6. Don’t damage school’s properties.

 

LESSON 2 – IMPORTANCE OF SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. It sets a standard in our society.

2. It provides safety and security.

3. It provides accountabilities in our society.

4. It foster positive image of our society.

5. It manages people behaviours.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher invites the head teacher or the assistant to enlighten the pupils more about the school rules and regulations.

3. Teacher leads the pupils to appreciate their invited guest and asks the pupils few questions.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils listen carefully to the guest speaker, ask and answer questions.

4. Teacher uses the activity 2 and the pupils responses in activity 3 to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on the importance of school rules and regulations.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction, participate actively in the class discussion and appreciate the importance of Rules and Regulations in their school.

5. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board by using the lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
