LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

MEANING OF SECURITY MANAGEMENT 

Security management is the process of managing the existing safety of lives and properties at all time.

 

 

SECURITY MANAGEMENT AT HOME, IN THE SCHOOL AND THE SOCIETY 

The following are common ways to secure our lives and properties at home, in the school and the society

1. Set up a security system and alarm

2. Secure the doors and windows

3. Lock the lock and windows

4. Light up your environment

5. Dispose unwanted materials

6. Password all your electronic devices and Wi-Fi network

7. Add security cameras

8. Get a security dog

9. Employ the service of security personnel for authorized organization.

10. Report stranger movements to appropriate authorities.

 

 

IMPORTANCE OF SECURITY MANAGEMENT AT HOME 

The following are ways to secure our lives and properties at home,

1. It ensures peace of mind.

2. It prevents and stops unwanted visitors and attacks on lives and properties.

3. It eliminates fear and boost confidence at home.

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or understanding.

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class with appropriate writing materials.

3. Teacher asks each group to state and discuss ways to secure our home, school and society.

4. Teacher calls for group’s presentation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils state, discuss and demonstrate ways to secure their home, schools and society.

5. Teacher uses the pupils appropriate responses to introduce the lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of the lesson.

6. Teacher leads a discussion on the importance of security management at home, school and in the society.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils state and analyze the importance of security management at home, school and the society.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate lesson evaluation.
