PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
- Read a simple narrative from a children’s novel.
- Identify the meaning/concept(s) of truthfulness.
- State the instance(s) of truthfulness in the story.
- State some factors that cause people to lie.
- Describe the consequences of not being truthful.

SIMPLE STORY ON VIRTUE OF TRUTHFULNESS
MEANING OF TRUTHFULNESS
Truthfulness is the act of telling or speaking the truth.
ATTRIBUTE OF TRUTHFULNESS
- consistent behaviour
- Steadfastness
- Straight forward
FACTORS THAT CAUSE PEOPLE TO TELL LIE
People tell lie –
- To avoid being punished.
- To protect another person from being punished.
- To avoid embarrassment.
- To impress people.
- To keep certain information.
CONSEQUENCES OF BEING UNTRUTHFUL
- Destroy of relationships.
- Lack of trust.

PRESENTATION
- To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
- To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
- Reads the story.
