LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

PACKAGING

Packaging are materials used for wrapping or protecting goods for distribution, storage, sale or personal use.

 

PACKAGING MATERIALS 

1. Cup

2. Plastic

3. Bottle

4. Polythene

5. Paper and paperboard

6. Drum/barrels

7. Cages

8. Boxes

9. Aluminium foil

10. Trays, etc.

 

 

PROCESSED FOOD 

Processed food is the transformation of agricultural products into food and beverages.

For example,

Fish ———— Titus

Meat ———– corned beef

Cocoa ——— milo or bourvita

Fruit ———— juice

 

ASSIGNMENT

LESSON 2 – PACKAGING OF PROCESSED FOOD

Packaging of processed food is the process of enclosing or protecting processed foods for personal or commercial use.

REASONS FOR PACKAGING OF PROCESSED FOOD

5. To retain the original shape and texture.

6. To maintain freshness of the food.

7. To increase shelf life of the food.
