By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to –
identify people involved in agricultural activities.

The farmers, food and fruit sellers, teachers, etc.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of –
sample/chart of agricultural products and list of people in agriculture.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – Display chart showing different people in agriculture for the pupils to identify and describe each activity. For example, a farmer on the farm, cattle rearer, fisherman, market man/woman, etc.
Pupil’s Activities – Farmer, fisherman, etc.
Teacher’s Remark – For every contribution, give a great cheer. List each people identified by the pupils on the board.
PEOPLE IN AGRICULTURE
There are many people in agriculture. These people engage in different activities that lead to growing of crops, rearing of animals, processing and selling of agricultural products.
The people in agriculture are –
1. Agriculture teachers

3. Gardeners or horticulture
4. Animal rearers or livestock farmers
5. Fishermen
6. Veterinary doctors
7. Agriculture engineers
8. Agricultural economics

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Asks pupils to name different activities that people engaged in agriculture do;
3. Explains the role performed by each group of people named;
Pupil’s Activities – List the different activities that people engaged in agriculture do in their localities.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – Origin of farming.
